Many of you remember my birth story with Calvin. At about 38 weeks, we found our Calvin was breech and I had no fluids left. I was in so much pain at the end of my pregnancy because of this. We scheduled a caesarean section about 3 days later. He was born and the pediatrician and physical therapist had concerns about his neck and hips. We started physical therapy right away and had our first appointment a week after we were discharged with the hospital. We started working on a lot of tummy time and stretches. We were very intentional with how we laid him and the amount of time he had to be at certain angles. Once he was strong enough and started sitting on his own, we worked out crawling, standing and a lot of movement with his legs and feet!

Active play at home has been great and much needed since COVID is still around and we haven't been able to join any play gyms or anything. It's so soft and sturdy! Active play is great for babies and children because it allows them to move at their own pace and problem solve on their own. 

This foam set has motivated him to climb and work on standing! He's so curious and always wants to get around! It's really helped Calvin develop his hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills. He uses his foam set daily and has mastered climbing the stairs! We are working on backing down the ramp or slowly using it as a slide!

I love getting Calvin out of the house! It's been one of the few ways we can reset from a tired or fussy day. Recently, the weather in WA has slowly been clearing up and getting somewhat sunny so we've been out on local trails for walks, parks or just a fun stroll out of town. You guys know how much we love our Joolz Aer compact travel stroller, but it just wasn't ideal for our longer walks on trails. With lots of research, we decided to go with the Joolz Day3 in Classic Blue! It's gorgeous and we love it for so many reasons! ​The canopy is huge and fully adjustable and is a full coverage for your child! I love that the front sun hood can become unzipped if you don't want the full covering. It's very easy and quiet to extend and move. This was something we though about because sometimes Calvin can be easily woken by sounds of zippers or the movement of the canopy. 

The wheels are large enough to be used on all terrain! This was my favorite because we go through a lot of gravel, grass and even sand! The front wheels lock to go straight by pushing down the front. 

The seat can be easily switched to face either direction. There's 2 buttons you push and lift up. You can switch the seat and click them back in. It's just that simple! We're able to do it in a matter of seconds because it's so easy to line up and click into place! 

The under compartment basket is so spacious! We have a blanket, hip carrier and compact changing pad/wristlet. There's still a ton more space in it, too!

Calvin runs really hot super easily so when we found out that there's a summer seat, we had to jump on it. The summer seat is fully ventilated which allows it to breathe during hot days!

​We absolutely love Joolz! All of their products are so sleek and high end. I know they're a bit pricier but you definitely get what you pay for! If you're looking for one stroller that will last, the Day3 is definitely your best bet! It's so soft and sleek!! 

Calvin started teething around 4 months and his first tooth broke through around 4.5 months. He's now 9 months old and has four little teefies. We think more of his teeth are coming in because he's been super grumpy, chomping on everything again, tugging on his ears and more. So this time around, we decided to try out some more things to see if it would help. I think we hit the jackpot because these are definitely helping him! 

We love this Oral Care Set because it comes in this compact set that's easy to store. Plus, there's all the brushes you need as your baby grows! There's no such thing as starting too early when it comes to promoting good dental hygiene! 

Stage 1: The finger brush is great because the soft silicone brush and rigids are gentle to massage those swollen gums. 
Stage 2: The one on the far left is recommended for soft gum massages for slightly older gums and when the teeth are just newly erupted. 
Stage 3: The middle brush is recommended to massage and clean teeth during the teething process. 
Stage 4: The soft nylon bristles are used to clean baby's teeth. We are currently using this brush because he has 4 teeth already (2 on top and 2 on the bottom).

We're dreaming about nice sunny weather over here in Washington state. It's been pretty gloomy and rainy the last few weeks. We've gotten random spurts of sunshine and definitely have been taking advantage of it by going on walks and getting out but we're still missing the water! So I've decided to do a lot of water play with Calvin lately. When the weather is nice, we take our inflatable bathtub outside or we simply just play in the bathtub. 

We are obsessed with Nuby products because they're so fun and affordable. I just love that they're available at basically every retail store. 

These Silly Squirts are so fun! I get nervous with most water toys because I don't like the idea of having water trapped inside. I don't want mold or mildew to grow inside of them and especially since Calvin puts everything in his mouth. These Silly Squirts untwist so you can easily clean and dry them! You can also mix and match the tops and bottoms to make them look even more silly. We also read that you can use soapy water to squirt bubbles so we'll have to try that!

These Little Squirts are just adorable. They come in a pack of 10 little sea characters (we are missing 2. The little one was currently playing with them when we took these photos). They're soft and easy to squeeze. Each character squirts water through their mouth! I love the vibrant colors and how easy easy it was to squeeze water though them.

These memory cards are so much fun! You can have them printed on matte or glossy finish. You get 12 cards and they're super thick! I honestly love the quality of these because they'll definitely last but the thickness is also important not to see the photo when flipped over- LOL.Although Calvin is too young to play with them, he's having a lot of fun recognizing the photos! I cannot wait for him to be able to play with these!

There's so many different types of strollers on the market and if you're a first time mama like I am, it could get overwhelming. I did extensive amounts of research when my husband and I were ready for a compact and lightweight stroller for Calvin. He's almost 7 months old and has great neck and body control so we figured it's time to upgrade for a compact umbrella stroller! I drive a small hatchback so our travel system takes up basically the entire trunk making it impossible to load anything else in the back. He never sleeps when we're out anymore so I don't have to lug our car seat around. The new Joolz Aer is our favorite and here's why!

Holy smokes! This is the most comfortable seat on the market! I was so surprised at how cushioned it is. I've actually never seen a stroller with such comfortable seats before. It also has very comfortable built in shoulder straps. I like that the shoulder straps are attached at the top so they don't fall up and down when baby is moving. 

The 5-point harness is adjustable and so easy to use. It never gets stuck and clips/unclips so easily. You can just push down from the center and all points of the harness detaches! This makes getting baby out so quick and easy! 

The waterproof canopy is sturdy and high quality. I love how easy it is to fold and unfold. It also has a zippered extension making it very easy to protect Calvin. It has a small mesh opening when unzipped as great air flow and peek-a-boo window! The canopy is UPF 50+ ensuring to keep them safe! 

We are seriously obsessed with our new stroller! I am so happy that Calvin's big enough to be able to use an actual stroller instead of a whole travel system. He's been the happiest being able to sit and see the world. The new Joolz Aer also makes our life just so much more convenient since it drives like butter and is so lightweight and compact. I mentioned in a previous post that I needed to find a bottle cleaning brush that I could use for my narrow neck bottles. I finally found something that works great! These easy grip bottle brushes are flexible and fit inside narrow neck bottles. 

The sponge tip helps scrub out any fat residue and crevices. The soft bristles assure that you get everything. The bottom piece detaches and useful to clean smaller nooks and crannies such as anti-colic pieces or bottle nipples. The end also has a looped handle making it easy to hang to dry!

Cleaning and caring for your baby's bottles is important because bacteria and mold can easily form inside and around your bottle. Since your baby is still young, their immune system is still developing so the risks of getting sick can be higher. It's crucial that you wash and care for your bottles as soon as you can to lessen their risks of being sick.

​I've heard a lot of moms rave about bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers but wasn't sure if we should get another "thing" to take up space on our counters. There's a ton out there and all have mixed reviews. So how were we to figure out which one to get? My husband and I opted out of registering or purchasing a sterilizer for while because we figured we would just wash Calvin's bottles right away or boil it to sterilize. This was great until we actually used a sterilizer. In my opinion they're definitely worth it! We have a big sterilizer by Pabalic that we sterilize our big 8 oz bottles, toys and bigger items. But we use our Nuby one-touch electric warmer and sterilizer every day and sterilize just about every other day. 

I love this warmer and sterilizer by Nuby! It heats up your milk or formula evenly and super quick! It even comes with measuring cup on the side. Simply measure your water, dump it in and push down on the button! It only takes a few minutes to evenly warm up.

Inside of the warmer/sterilizer is a small tray. For small items such as bink binks (pacifiers) and nipples, toss it inside of the tray, attach the lid and push the button down to sterilize. 

I love that it has that inner tray. It helps prevent your bottle or small items to touch the heating plate. I also love that it's small and compact so it's not taking much counter space. It's small and easy to store in a cupboard if you're not using it everyday.

Once cleaned, I usually try to sterilize all of the items about every 2-3 days in either our big sterilizer or one-touch warmer/sterilizer. 

I had no idea that babies could start teething so early! Calvin is just about to be 5 months next week and he's been teething for about 2-3 weeks now. My pretty happy and chill baby became fussy, uncomfortable and agitated for hours on end. He was averaging 6-8 hours of sleep a night to waking up every 2 hours. I was pretty much in denial because he was so young. But as I did some research and checked his gums, I realized he was in fact teething!

Teething can be rough for both you and baby! You might've gotten into a routine of things and then your baby started teething. It's like you took one step forward and ten steps backwards! But don't worry! It'll get easier for you and baby once you learn how to soothe their pain and figure out what products work.
